Embossing and debossing folders are perhaps the easiest to use of all the paper crafting materials on the market today. You may emboss (or deboss) to your heart’s content as long as you have the required equipment! Cardmakers have found out a range of interesting and clever strategies in recent years to help them stretch the use of their 6x6 embossing files. Some of these techniques are quite simple to replicate, while others need more skill and close attention.
It’s usually a good idea for novices to start with the most basic and easy embossing and debossing techniques. Once you’ve mastered the technique, you’ll be able to quickly recreate those Instagram and Pinterest-worthy embossed and debossed homemade cards.
Here’s how to create this clean, simple, and sophisticated debossed pattern on your homemade card:
- Prepare a piece of white cardboard.
- Take out your embossing or debossing folder of choice. Laurie designed her homemade card using the Mega Hello Debossing Folder.
- Insert your white cardstock inside the folder and emboss it with your embossing machine. Because each machine is unique, make sure you follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Laurie added some interest by stamping a little phrase in black ink at the bottom and a tiny heart picture in red ink.
This exquisite and stylish handmade card will take you less than 5 minutes to produce, and you can simply make a large quantity of them. If you prefer embossing to debossing, just replace your debossing folder with an embossing folder and follow the same steps as above. Isn’t it simple?
